Job Opportunity: Facilities Maintenance Technician

DEKA Research and Development is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team in Manchester, NH. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing routine building maintenance and responding to special requests during the afternoon shift (10:00am-6:00pm, Monday-Friday).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete work orders efficiently and effectively
  • Respond to emergency maintenance calls and serve as the primary point of contact
  • Document all work-related activities and details in work orders
  • Communicate with the management team, staff, and tenants regarding facility maintenance, projects, and emergencies
  • Collaborate with contractors to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks
  • Implement and maintain facility preventative maintenance plans
  • Manage inventory of supplies and materials needed for daily work requirements

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of experience in a maintenance role
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work
  • Ability to interpret basic electrical and mechanical diagrams
  • Competence in root cause analysis and repair
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 75 pounds)
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks for extended periods
