The Davidson County Sheriff's Office is seeking a Correctional Officer Trainee to join our team. As a Correctional Officer Trainee, you will be responsible for assisting with the care and well-being of inmates, monitoring inmate movement, and conducting searches of cells and inmates.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with securing and overseeing the care and well-being of inmates.
  • Monitor inmate movement within a facility.
  • Conduct searches of cells, inmates, and visitors.
  • Prepare reports and submit incident and disciplinary write-ups.
  • Supervise inmate work assignments and oversee the feeding of inmates.
  • Provide inmate security at hospitals, courts, and other assigned destinations.
  • Assist with inmate processing and transportation to various locations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Benefits:

The Nashville Sheriff's Office offers a generous core benefit package to eligible employees who are regularly and consistently working 20 or more hours per week. Insurance and benefit coverage is effective the first of the month after the employee has worked 30 days. Employees can change their benefits within 60 days of an eligible change in status or during Annual Enrollment.
