Role Summary
We are currently seeking an IT Support Specialist to fulfill a vital role within our organization. This position is responsible for providing essential helpdesk support. Key responsibilities include the installation and maintenance of desktop hardware, printers, telecommunication devices, RF terminals, barcode scanners, two-way radios, security systems, as well as software installation and configuration. The specialist will assist end users with application and network issues, manage ticketing processes, and maintain accurate documentation and inventories.
This role requires on-site support during standard business hours, with an on-call rotation once fully trained.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and troubleshoot Help Desk inquiries via various communication channels in a 24/7 environment.
- Install and maintain hardware and software systems, including computers, printers, and other peripherals.
- Provide front-line support for incoming technical issues, ensuring accurate data collection related to reported incidents.
- Assist users with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktops, laptops, and software in accordance with established standards.
- Deliver direct support during the testing and implementation of new policies and systems.
- Maintain an inventory of frequently used items for desktop support and request additional supplies as necessary.
- Participate in the on-call rotation for Technical Services.
- Possess knowledge of server and desktop operating systems, general networking principles, and various software applications.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Information Technology is preferred.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience is advantageous.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with end users.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal abilities.
- Analytical skills to gather information and troubleshoot effectively.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain organization.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
