Overview:
The individual in this position plays a vital role in ensuring the production of dependable products and supplies through efficient operations within a supportive organization. This role is responsible for managing automated machinery and systems to carry out a diverse range of tasks associated with assembly, printing, filling, and packaging manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Activities (80%)
- Implements the assembly, filling, labeling, and packaging processes of varying complexity in accordance with production records and operational procedures to achieve finished products while meeting production goals.
- Capable of executing basic transactions within complex systems and controls in a regulated manufacturing setting (e.g., receiving, processing, building products/materials, ensuring material availability, SAP transactions/confirmations).
- Contributes to daily end-of-shift reports and handovers.
- Upholds the Right to Operate and ensures all processes are conducted safely and healthily; identifies and escalates any potential safety hazards; provides input during safety hazard investigations, incidents, and near misses using safety reporting tools.
- Executes tasks/transactions in the quality management system to ensure compliance with quality objectives.
- Understands the expectations for audit readiness (OSHA, FDA, QSR, GMP, ISO, etc.); may be required to respond to inquiries about processes on the spot.
- Maintains accurate and complete system transactions to ensure material traceability and inventory accuracy (e.g., receipt, storage, issuance of materials, and other inventory transactions).
- Provides feedback on client investigations, reworks, and corrective actions.
- Adheres to 95% or above internal training compliance.
- Responsible for 6S activities, achieving cycle times, and developing/following standard work; identifies and implements process enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean methodologies.
- Participates and contributes to shop floor tier meetings.
- Actively collaborates with colleagues across shifts/functions to ensure daily targets are met.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Associate's Degree preferred.
- 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in a GMP environment.
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment in a regulated setting preferred.
- Familiarity with validated software systems used for Quality, Inventory, and Processes preferred.
- Knowledge of sensors, motors, cylinders, etc., and experience with hand tools and testing equipment preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with Google products (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Docs, etc.) preferred.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
- Ability to be agile and precise in a high-volume environment.
- Strong organizational, planning, and attention to detail skills.
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
- Exceptional time management skills to handle multiple tasks and daily production objectives.
- Proficient in using industry-related technology.
- Capable of using precision tools.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential for this role.
