Job Summary:The Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care to patients, as well as assisting during interventional and surgical operating room procedures. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare patients for medical procedures according to established guidelines.
- Ensure informed consent is obtained from patients prior to administering sedation.
- Administer medication and IV therapy as needed.
- Facilitate patient transfer to EMS and hospital facilities.
- Expedite the smooth flow of patients through the Access Center.
- Complete patient assessments for potential problems with patency and other indicators of dialysis access.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical records.
- Provide patient education and instructions on home care.
- Use equipment standard to the profession, such as cardiac monitors and stethoscopes.
- Perform crash cart maintenance and defibrillator checks.
- Enter pertinent information in the computer system for statistical analysis, research, and patient follow-up.
- Maintain Infection Logbook.
- Assist with maintaining adequate supply and medication inventory.
- Comply with current OSHA guidelines.
- Maintain patient confidentiality.
- Participate in the Quality Assurance (QA) Program.
- Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Two years of acute or critical care experience is preferred, in addition to experience with Conscious Sedation.
- Current Arizona Registered Nurse License, current certification in Basic Life Support, and current ACLS certification.
