We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical team at Mount Sinai Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care, work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to a culture of excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality patient care, incorporating the principles of Relationship Centered Care and the nursing process.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking skills to manage patient care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Prioritize patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning for post-hospital care, while delegating tasks as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, health promotion, and disease prevention.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Manage assignments and allocate resources effectively, demonstrating a patient-focused and cost-effective approach to care.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree in nursing considered with relevant experience and/or active matriculation in a BSN program.
- Current registration in New York State as a Registered Nurse.
- Relevant clinical competence in medical-surgical nursing; new graduates must possess current knowledge of the nursing process and its application.
- Certifications: Basic Life Saver (BCLS), NRP (Labor and Delivery, NICU), ACLS (various departments), PALS (various departments).
