Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tire Technician to join our team at Purcell Tire & Rubber Co. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the highest level of quality in all aspects of tire and automotive maintenance and repair.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pull customer vehicles in and out of the shop in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform oil/lube services, maintenance lamp resets, and gather necessary repair information.
  • Conduct thorough vehicle inspections, accurately measure and record findings, and report results on the repair order.
  • Replace tires and perform tire repair services.
  • Work with and reset TPMS systems.
  • Replace wipers and light bulbs.
  • Operate automotive lift equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Clean, stock, and maintain the work area.
  • Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
  • Perform wheel alignment services.
  • Embody Purcell's culture of safety and perform all jobs in a safe manner.
  • Protect company assets.
  • Regular attendance in accordance with assigned schedule.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements as listed in the job description.
  • Other essential and non-essential duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Minimum Job-Specific Experience: 1-2 years.
  • Management Experience: N/A.
  • Driver's License Required: Yes.
  • Other Job-Specific Licenses or Certifications Required: Tire Industry Association ATS certification, ASE certifications, vendor-provided training.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Tire & Automotive Industry: Essential industry information, including tire brands, designs, treads; proper safety and functional procedures, and relevant customer markets.
  • Mechanical: Knowledge of automotive vehicles and tools, including their repair and maintenance.
  • Customer Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Repairing: Repairing machines or systems using the needed tools.
  • Troubleshooting: Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it.
