Position: Operations Manager - Stanley Access Technologies

Key Responsibilities:

The Operations Manager will oversee the Jamb/Threshold/Transom, Header, and Panel value streams. This role is pivotal in achieving operational goals related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People Development across machining and assembly processes within each value stream. The Operations Manager will directly supervise a team of value stream supervisors and Manufacturing Engineers, collaborating with support teams to realize the plant's Lean Transformation objectives.

Core Duties Include:

  • Fostering a safe work environment and proactively addressing safety concerns.
  • Engaging team members and promoting a positive workplace culture through support and recognition.
  • Building and nurturing a cohesive team.
  • Coaching and developing direct reports while holding them accountable for their commitments.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality standards to deliver defect-free products to customers.
  • Meeting delivery commitments consistently.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring their sustainability.
  • Establishing and enforcing adherence to standard work practices.
  • Maintaining 5S, visual management, and effective housekeeping practices.
  • Developing staffing plans to align with operational objectives.
  • Collaborating with leadership peers to achieve plant goals.
  • Ensuring compliance and active participation in the Managing for Daily Improvement Process (MDI).
  • Establishing and monitoring operational metrics.
  • Leading problem-solving initiatives, including A3s and Kaizen events.
  • Conducting Daily Gemba walks.
  • Achieving cost objectives for the plant by meeting productivity targets and managing expenditures.
  • Applying lean manufacturing principles and fostering a culture of Kaizen while engaging manufacturing associates in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Exemplifying and promoting the values of Allegion.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in leading Manufacturing Engineers is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
  • Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
