Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Equipment Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be integral to our operations, focusing on the repair and maintenance of marine machinery and components.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough inspections and accurately document findings.
2. Engage in the repair and refurbishment of marine components.
3. Offer support for repairs and overhauls both in-house and at client locations as necessary.
4. Assist in various shop and warehouse tasks, including machining, assembly, inventory management, and other related duties.
5. Follow company technical manuals to execute tasks effectively.
6. Maintain comprehensive daily service reports detailing work performed, inspection results, and tests conducted.
Safety Commitment:
1. Adhere to established safety protocols while performing all job functions.
2. Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
3. Promptly report any work-related incidents or safety concerns.
4. Complete all mandatory safety training on an annual basis.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Completion of an Associate of Applied Science in Diesel Technology or equivalent experience is preferred.
- A minimum of three years of military experience as a navy engineman or relevant industry experience is advantageous.
- Basic understanding of diesel engine mechanics.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a professional demeanor.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Capability to manage stressful situations effectively.
- Ability to lift at least 35 pounds regularly.
- Valid driver's license is necessary.
- Basic computer proficiency, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% as required.
