Job Summary

The Assistant Manager, Merchandising will oversee the overall operations of the store and ensure the achievement of company goals and objectives. This role requires a strong leader who can manage store operations, inventory, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive shopping experience.
    • Proactively assist customers in solving problems and address their concerns.
    • Greet customers and thank them for their business.
    • Ensure all calls and pages are answered promptly and effectively.
    • Handle customer complaints and work to resolve issues.
  • Store Operations
    • Ensure a safe and professional work environment for all associates.
    • Supervise the general operations of the store, including opening and closing procedures.
    • Assist with the implementation of company programs and initiatives.
    • Ensure successful loss prevention, safety, and internal audits.
    • Work with the General Manager and Assistant Manager - Operations to achieve store goals.
  • Inventory and Merchandising
    • Oversee receiving, checking in, and stocking of merchandise.
    • Ensure accurate inventory levels and manage back stock.
    • Oversee cycle counts and negative on-hand reports.
    • Manage ordering and maintaining desirable product inventory levels.
  • Hiring and Training of Associates
    • Assist in training and development of sales associates and department specialists.
    • Actively recruit and promote the advancement of Westlake associates.
  • Leadership
    • Manage store operations in the absence of the General Manager.
    • Lead by example and be approachable by all associates and customers.
    • Participate in store meetings and communicate with the General Manager.
    Requirements
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Previous retail management experience preferred.
    • Standing, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs), and climbing required.
