As a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor, reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing safety, quality, timely delivery, productivity, material management, cost efficiency, employee training, and relations within a high-performance team environment. Your role will involve monitoring production metrics and implementing processes, procedures, and methodologies to enhance performance across all critical operational areas. You will also be accountable for ensuring adherence to best manufacturing practices and regulatory compliance for all production activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion the safety of all personnel; spearhead a comprehensive safety initiative to mitigate risks. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations.
- Foster the development of team members through education, training, and collaborative efforts.
- Provide motivation, support, and guidance to all staff members.
- Communicate challenges and barriers to the Plant Manager and leadership team. Establish workflow policies that enhance efficiency without compromising product safety or quality.
- Develop employee schedules to maintain optimal staffing levels.
- Assist in the formulation of the annual operational budget. Strive to meet or exceed productivity, cost, and performance metrics as defined by the Plant Manager.
- Support employee relations initiatives.
- Recruit, train, guide, and mentor staff and all plant personnel from diverse backgrounds.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts, including safety initiatives, Six Sigma, Kaizen events, and lean manufacturing practices.
- Coordinate production schedules to align with customer requirements, manage overtime, minimize inventory, and reduce costs.
- Support quality assurance initiatives to ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations. Ensure employees perform necessary quality checks and audits.
- Build and sustain productive employee relationships, promoting job satisfaction. Provide direction, training, and development as required. Offer coaching, counseling, or disciplinary actions as necessary. Collaborate with HR to address employee concerns.
- Identify, propose, and execute capital projects aimed at enhancing operational performance.
- Preferred educational background in manufacturing, engineering, safety, or a related field.
- Ability to obtain Red Cross First Aid & CPR/AED certification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including the ability to create charts, graphs, SOPs, and presentations.
- Exhibit a high level of integrity, trust, and ethical standards.
- Willingness to work overtime and maintain a flexible schedule to support all shifts.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain composure in various situations.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Demonstrated track record of safety leadership.
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to employee safety.
- Comfortable with public speaking and training large groups.
- A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience with Control Charts, SPC/SQC, and data analysis is preferred.
The annual base salary range for this position is competitive, complemented by a quarterly target bonus.
