We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Saint John's On The Lake. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents and guests.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a variety of menu items, including hot and cold foods, using standardized recipes and cooking methods.
- Monitor and maintain food quality, presentation, and temperature to ensure a safe and enjoyable dining experience.
- Follow established procedures for food handling, storage, and disposal to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
- Assist with events and catering services as needed, preparing and serving bulk food items.
- Use the POS system to process resident and visitor meals, following established cash handling procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to resident and guest needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in culinary arts preferred.
- At least 6 months of institutional or commercial cooking experience, with demonstrated skill in quality food production and knowledge of quality standards.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing organizational needs, work flexible hours, and meet the scheduling requirements of the position.
- Professional demeanor, neat attire, and excellent customer service skills.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, steam, and cleaning chemicals. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for long periods, and move quickly and safely in a busy kitchen setting.
