Support Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Specialist to join our team at ACLD. As a Support Specialist, you will work in a residential setting, assisting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their personal goals and become self-sufficient.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide structure and emotional support to individuals in our care
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal hygiene and meal preparation
  • Help individuals achieve their personal goals and exceed their expectations
  • Document progress and provide detailed reports
  • Transport individuals to medical appointments and recreational activities

Requirements:

  • Clean, valid NYS Driver's license
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Some experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred, but training will be provided

What We Offer:

Competitive salary range of $18.00-$20.00 per hour, with some programs offering a differential in addition to the hourly rate. ACLD has over 50 locations throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties, offering a range of shifts, including day, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts, as well as weekend-only shifts.
