We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Outpatient Registered Nurse to join our team at Shepherd Center. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to individuals with spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, multiple sclerosis, and other neuromuscular conditions.
Responsibilities:- Provide nursing care services for patients in a hospital outpatient setting, utilizing a collaborative interdisciplinary approach to anticipate, integrate, and coordinate plan of care.
- Serve as a patient/caregiver advocate and act as a communication link among internal and external healthcare providers to maintain safe practice and optimize care.
- Utilize high-level knowledge of Multiple Sclerosis disease process and effectively communicate medical issues with physicians.
- Infuse immunosuppressive, blood (IVIG) products or chemotherapy agents, and identify and manage hypersensitivity reactions to infusion therapy.
- Monitor patient post-infusion for reaction and report to physician/APP for additional care, following protocol orders for infusion reaction.
- Insert peripheral intravenous catheters and access and maintain venous access devices (VAD).
- Graduate of a nursing program from an accredited college or university.
- Active Georgia RN license or NLC/eNLC Multistate license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum one (1) year RN experience, preferably in ambulatory/outpatient procedure or infusion center.
- Previous nursing experience with patients with neurological injury or disease.
- Phlebotomy and peripheral intravenous catheterization skills.
The Outpatient Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced outpatient setting, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
