Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Customer Relationship Officer to join our team at Stifel. As a key member of our financial services team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients.

About the Role

As a Customer Relationship Officer, you will be responsible for assisting Financial Advisors with the opening and maintenance of client accounts and records. This will include performing a wide range of administrative support duties, such as word processing, preparing mailings, filing, and answering phone calls. You will also be responsible for obtaining approvals for Financial Advisor communications and advertisements, providing overall customer service support to clients, and may be required to enter trades as directed by the Financial Advisors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Perform clerical functions related to opening client accounts and ongoing account coding based on account features chosen by the client.
  2. Work with the Financial Advisors and the client in obtaining the required documents based upon the type of account(s) established.
  3. Organize and assist in the maintenance of complete client account and trade-related records for the Financial Advisors and certain required files for the branch office.
  4. Perform operational or administrative functions for client-related requests (i.e., check requests, wiring funds, address change, dividend information, etc.).
  5. Upon request, provide quotes and other account-related information to assist clients; non-registered Customer Relationship Officers may not volunteer quote or other stock information to clients.
  6. Provide reports and other information to Financial Advisors, as requested.
  7. Identify situations that need to be brought to the attention of the Financial Advisors or escalated to the Branch Manager; including suspicious client and/or employee activity or behavior.
  8. Perform various administrative duties (i.e., typing, filing, answer phones, mailing documents/letters, etc.) and other duties and projects as assigned by the Financial Advisor and/or Branch Manager.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  1. Administrative Knowledge - Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spread-sheet applications, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology.
  2. Industry Knowledge - General understanding of the investment brokerage industry and securities regulations with basic knowledge of investment products.
  3. Time Management – Able to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks, responsibilities and deadlines; is able to follow through and accomplish goals, manage expectations appropriately and use firm's resources efficiently.
  4. Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to practical problem solving.
  5. Customer and Interpersonal Skills - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exemplary customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  6. Communication Skills - The ability to communicate information and ideas in spoken or written form so that others will understand with excellent grammar and phone/office etiquette.
Education & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. 2+ years clerical/related industry experience required.
Systems & Technology

The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Estimated Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $45,000 and $65,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
