Position Overview

Salary:

We are currently in search of a Head of Financial Reporting to guide and enhance our financial reporting division as we prepare for potential public offering.

The Head of Financial Reporting will report directly to the Controller and will be accountable for overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting obligations of the organization. This role will ensure the accurate preparation and filing of financial statements in alignment with U.S. GAAP standards (and SEC regulations, where applicable). The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, particularly within Big 4 accounting firms or publicly traded companies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and review of internal and external financial reports in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Generate financial data and presentations for earnings calls, disclosures, and audit committees as necessary.
  • Manage consolidation processes across multiple legal entities and ensure accurate eliminations.
  • Provide expert U.S. GAAP analysis and training, including the development of technical accounting policy documents.
  • Supervise and audit the work of the reporting team, contributing to performance evaluations within the department.
  • Conduct variance analyses on balance sheets and income statements, and assist in creating comprehensive analytical review packages for senior management.
  • Review investor and debt covenant reporting, ensuring accuracy in complex transactions recorded in the general ledger.
  • Verify departmental budgets for precision before distribution to relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist in external financial audits by preparing and analyzing audit requests.
  • Stay updated on new reporting and disclosure regulations issued by FASB and other regulatory bodies.
  • As the organization moves towards a public offering, manage the preparation and review of external reports, including XBRL filings, ensuring compliance with SEC and U.S. GAAP.
  • Maintain robust internal control procedures and ensure adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline is required; CPA designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience is essential.
  • At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience in a public accounting environment and experience with public companies is mandatory.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of finance, financial planning, accounting, and tax matters, with a strong grasp of GAAP.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and advanced Excel).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex issues to all management levels.
  • Prior experience in credit card or financial services is advantageous but not required.
