Continental Finance Company (CFC) is a prominent player in the financial technology sector, specializing in credit card solutions for individuals with credit challenges. We are currently seeking a Senior Manager of Financial Reporting to guide our financial reporting division as we prepare for future growth and potential public offerings.

The Senior Manager of Financial Reporting, reporting directly to the Controller, will oversee the execution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting obligations. This role will ensure the accurate preparation and compliance of internal and external financial statements in alignment with U.S. GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the preparation and review of internal and external financial reports, ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP.
  • Compile financial data and documentation for earnings presentations, disclosures, and audit committee reviews.
  • Manage the consolidation process across multiple legal entities.
  • Provide expert analysis on U.S. GAAP and develop technical accounting policy documents as necessary.
  • Supervise the reporting team, ensuring quality and performance management.
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement variances, preparing comprehensive reports for executive management.
  • Oversee investor and debt covenant reporting, ensuring accuracy in complex transactions.
  • Review departmental budgets for precision before distribution.
  • Assist in external audits by preparing and addressing audit requests.
  • Stay informed on new reporting and disclosure regulations from FASB and other governing bodies.
  • As the company moves towards a potential IPO, manage external reporting requirements, including XBRL filings.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline is required; CPA designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience is preferred.
  • At least 7 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting and with publicly traded companies is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of finance, financial planning, accounting, and tax regulations, with a strong grasp of GAAP.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying complex issues to various management levels.
  • Experience in the credit card or financial services sector is advantageous but not mandatory.
