Job Title: Senior Manager, Environmental Compliance and Strategy

Invenergy LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager to join our Environmental Compliance and Strategy team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's compliance with National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations for clean energy and transmission projects in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams on NEPA compliance for clean energy and transmission projects.
  • Review and provide input on NEPA milestone schedules and budgets prepared by project teams.
  • Advise project teams on the intersection of NEPA with other related federal environmental laws and regulations.
  • Provide input on the appropriate level of NEPA documentation and public engagement strategies.
  • Oversee the preparation of NEPA documents prepared by consultants and provide quality assurance and quality control for deliverables.
  • Develop agency engagement strategies to advocate for the company's position on elements of the NEPA process.
  • Stay updated on the latest developments and best practices in NEPA law, regulation, policy, and guidance.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of professional experience in NEPA.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience and expertise interpreting and applying other federal environmental laws (ESA, CWA, and NHPA).
  • Demonstrated experience developing innovative strategies for environmental compliance for complex infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and make independent decisions that promote/advance company and project goals and objectives.
  • Self-directed with the ability and desire to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to act and adapt to a fast-paced business environment with competing deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in biological science/natural resources/environmental policy or environmental law degree.
  • Working knowledge of resource avoidance and minimization measures for the development and construction of utility-scale energy projects.
