Role Overview:
The selected candidate will be a vital member of the Finance & Accounting division, working closely with executive leadership to influence and direct the financial strategy of the organization. This position is crucial for crafting and managing the financial narrative, driving both operational and strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
- Prepare comprehensive monthly financial reports for U.S. subsidiaries, ensuring precise communication with the Head Office.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of financial performance, comparing actual results to budgeted forecasts.
- Oversee monthly cash flow assessments to facilitate optimal financial adjustments.
- Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams to improve financial operations and efficiency.
- Develop financial forecasts for prospective business initiatives.
- Work with senior leadership to formulate annual financial budgets and strategic plans.
- Assist in creating mid-to-long-term financial strategies for U.S. operations.
- Coordinate with external property managers for rental proposals and real estate market evaluations.
- Assess financial and operational performance of portfolio companies across various sectors.
Accounting Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly accounting activities in partnership with U.S. accounting teams and external property management accountants.
- Participate in diverse financial and tax-related projects with the parent organization.
- Supervise the processing and approval of invoices.
- Prepare documentation for tax filings with external tax firms.
- Generate periodic financial reports for the parent company.
- Review legal agreements in collaboration with the general counsel.
- Ensure compliance with building maintenance and operational standards.
General Duties:
- Support initiatives related to startup investments and corporate development.
- Assist senior management with administrative functions, including internal approvals and project management.
- Lead projects, providing regular updates and insights to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Native-level proficiency in the Japanese language.
- Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
