Job Title: Vacuum Design Engineer

About the Role

This is a direct hire opening for a Vacuum Design Engineer to join our team at ManpowerGroup. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing components, chambers, and systems for the vacuum market segment. The ideal candidate will have experience with ultra-high vacuum system requirements, as well as testing and qualification of chambers for UHV.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create designs, specifications, models, bills of material, and manufacturing drawings in collaboration with a team of engineers and drafters.
  • Coordinate efforts with production to ensure that the design meets manufacturability capabilities, including tolerance stack-up and surface finish.
  • Ensure that the intended product or structure will be safe, dependable, cost-effective, and meet customer or regulatory requirements.
  • Build prototypes as needed for testing and approval.
  • Review customer models and drawings for missing or incorrect information required in producing the customer's part through to completion.


Requirements

  • BS Engineering degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Machine Design, Process Design, or related field.
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment related to vacuum equipment or vacuum processing.
  • AAS degree in a relevant field such as Mechanical Design with 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment related to vacuum equipment or vacuum processing.
  • Experience with ultra-high vacuum product design and manufacturing required. Direct experience and capabilities for design and manufacture of custom components, chambers, and process systems preferred.
  • Experience with Vacuum Pumps, Vacuum Leak Checking, Residual Gas Analysis is beneficial.
