Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer to join our team in the vacuum market segment. The successful candidate will analyze customer requirements, design components, chambers, and systems, and work closely with operations, sourcing, quality, and project management to meet customer expectations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Create designs, specifications, models, bills of material, and manufacturing drawings
  • Coordinate efforts with production to ensure manufacturability capabilities
  • Ensure safety, dependability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with customer or regulatory requirements
  • Build prototypes for testing and approval
  • Review customer models and drawings for missing or incorrect information
  • Modify existing designs or products to improve performance or integrate new technology
  • Perform engineering calculations to size components and process equipment
  • Interact with customers during the quotation phase and provide technical sales support
  • Work closely with the quality assurance team to define a quality/inspection plan
  • Provide optimum cooperation and complete information to Project Manager
Requirements
  • BS Engineering degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Machine Design, or related field
  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment related to vacuum equipment or vacuum processing
  • Experience with ultra-high vacuum product design and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD, GD&T principles, and project management
  • Ability to work under time constraints and interact with customers
Physical Requirements

The company fosters a manufacturing type environment. This position will primarily involve operating a computer at a desk in an office environment.
