Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize equipment availability, safety, and environmental performance.
- Manage and coordinate facility maintenance and reliability activities, including planning, execution, and budgeting.
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to prepare and administer the facility maintenance budget, including submitting recommendations, monitoring expenditures, and preparing cost estimates.
- Develop and implement a culture of critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to drive continuous improvements in maintenance functions and overall mill operations.
- Responsible for the development and planning of longer-term improvements to maintenance programs, including infrastructure monitoring and improvements.
- Implement maintenance best practices and processes, including effective planning and scheduling, technician precision maintenance training, and reliability efforts in lubrication, vibration, and root cause analysis.
- Develop succession planning within the maintenance department and overall career development of personnel within the maintenance organization.
- Ensure efficient utilization of manpower and contractors, including oversight of various long-term contract agreements.
- Monitor behaviors within the organizational boundaries to maintain a culture embedded in professionalism, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, respect, and trust.
- Provide overall planning and coordination for annual maintenance shutdowns.
- Manage mill-wide mobile equipment compliment.
- Coordinate and work closely with inventory and accounting to ensure adequate spare parts availability while optimizing overall inventory levels.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related engineering field is required.
- Reliability Engineering background preferred.
- 5-10 years experience in manufacturing, 3-5 years supervision experience.
- Ability to effectively communicate with technical specialists, management, supervision, and technicians.
- Ability to lead a multi-discipline team both as supervisor and in a technical capacity.
- Ability to operate effectively in the use of business tools including computers, e-mail, and applicable software applications.
- Ability to put sustainable systems in place to track and report maintenance costs while working closely with accounting to forecast future expenses.
- Strong organization and communication skills with the proven ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Solid understanding and experience with continuous improvement processes such as Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, and CIP.
- Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving skills with knowledge across maintenance, engineering, and operations, including:
- Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Risk-Based Maintenance, Risk-Based Inspection, (RCM, RBI) methodologies.
- Predictive Maintenance, Digitization, and Automation methodologies and tools.
- Lean Manufacturing.
Salary: $95,000-$110,000 ESOP Company
