Position Title: Sales Representative - Automation/Controls/BAS

Role Overview: We are seeking a dynamic sales professional to spearhead our efforts in expanding our Controls Division. This role involves identifying and securing new business opportunities, focusing on both design/build projects and traditional plan/spec engagements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expand EMCOR's market presence in building automation sales within the designated territory.
  • Evaluate potential business opportunities to ensure they align with corporate objectives.
  • Analyze project specifications and plans to design and estimate sophisticated DDC control systems.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling proposal presentations and responses to RFPs.
  • Generate comprehensive cost estimates that include materials, labor, system designs, and vendor quotes.
  • Draft technical proposals and detailed scope letters for prospective projects.
  • Participate in sales meetings, pre-bid discussions, and site evaluations for potential projects.
  • Engage with consulting engineers, general contractors, and mechanical contractors to cultivate long-term partnerships.
  • Maintain an updated database of clients and potential projects, providing regular updates to management.
  • Represent EMCOR in industry associations and professional organizations, fostering relationships with clients and community leaders.
  • Effectively communicate project scopes and sales documentation to the engineering team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or equivalent experience in the HVAC/building controls sector.
  • Proven track record in Building Automation or HVAC sales.
  • Self-motivated with a commitment to staying abreast of new DDC technologies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and control applications.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
