Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at The Salvation Army USA Central Territory. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for supporting the training and supervision of store staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining a high level of store appearance and organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the training and supervision of store staff to ensure excellent customer service and a positive store environment.
  • Document and provide information requested about direct reports to store manager for personnel review and corrective action.
  • Review and approve time and attendance for store personnel using the current payroll system.
  • Check time logs regularly and ensure compliance with all current regulations and trainings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the store manager.
Requirements
  • High School Degree or Equivalent.
  • 2 years of retail experience, thrift experience is a plus.
  • Associates Degree a plus.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with customers, management and co-workers.
  • Basic computer skills including but not limited to the use of the Point of Sales System; the payroll program and all other programs or systems that are adopted by The Salvation Army USA Central Territory.
  • Ability to give change accurately.
  • Good speaking, hearing and vision ability, and excellent manual dexterity.
Work Environment

The work environment for this position is a store environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. The environment may be dusty and may experience temperature fluctuations based on weather. May stand for extended periods.

Travel

May be required to travel to various locations for work or training.
