At AEG, we are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant General Manager to join our team. As a key member of our venue management team, you will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in the effective management of food and beverage operations at Cable Dahmer Arena.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage, develop, and mentor full-time and part-time employees, including initiating employment actions such as hiring, firing, and disciplining.
- Ensure proper set-up of all food and beverage locations prior to doors, including verifying opening inventory, assigning duties to concession workers, and ensuring sanitation standards are met.
- Support POS monitoring and troubleshooting, guest complaint resolution, post-event reporting and reconciliation, and other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
- Ensure event staff are aware of workplace expectations, provide on-going assistance, training, and mentoring to event staff, and promote a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative workplace environment.
- Control labor costs through effective training and leadership of managers when they are scheduling employees and volunteers to align with projected guest attendance and sales projections.
- Ensure that the purchasing and preparation of all food products meet OVG standards of quality and consistency, and support the development of menus to ensure quality, consistency, and style of concept are maintained.
- Maintain a positive and compliant employee relations climate, responsible for training, evaluation, and counseling of staff, and positively interact with staff and rapidly solve problems.
- Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, safety, and employment regulations by clearly communicating and reinforcing standards and procedures to kitchen staff.
- Promote teamwork among staff through effective communication, follow-through, and goal setting, and lead by example and thorough instruction to effectively obtain quality management of product, service, and philosophy of concept.
- Associate's Degree (A.A.) or greater in Culinary Management, Business Management, or related field, along with 3-5 years' experience in Food and Beverage Management, or related experience.
- Demonstrated and verifiable track record of meeting projected costs.
- Professional appearance and presentation required.
- Knowledge of and skill in using computer software, including MS Word/Excel/Outlook.
- Maintains a current Food Handler's card and alcohol service permit if required by state or local government.
- Advanced knowledge of inventory procedures and controls.
- Ability to calculate basic math functions as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation, and product inventory.
- Ability to obtain and maintain certification in a nationally recognized sanitation program.
- Ability to positively interact with diverse personalities, including co-workers, subordinates, guests, and purveyors in a variety of work situations.
- A competitive salary of $70,000.

This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The AGM must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule, including evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, self-direction, and strong technical aptitude are required.
