Requirements:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a relevant unit. First-time travelers are welcome.
Patient Demographics:
Care for adults to geriatrics with an average daily census of 28.
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio:
1:4/5
Unit Systems:
Utilize systems such as Pyxis, EPIC, and SBAR. Common diagnoses include CHF, STEMI, NSTEMI, renal issues, pulmonary conditions, trauma, stroke, and TIA.
Specialized Procedures:
Involvement in procedures such as peritoneal dialysis, CPAP, BIPAP, EKG monitoring, and cardiac catheterizations.
Essential Skills and Certifications:
- BLS, ACLS
- Epic Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Telemetry monitoring (both on-unit and remote)
- Management of cardiac drips and IV protocols
- Wound care and isolation precautions
Schedule Expectations:
Availability: Maximum of 7 days off. Block scheduling is not guaranteed. Holiday requests are limited.
Weekend Coverage: Required for unit coverage, with flexibility in scheduling.
Floating: May be required to assist in other departments as needed.
Compliance:
Full compliance is essential for timely onboarding. Delays may result in extended start dates due to orientation schedules.
