Job Title: Import Compliance Business Specialist

Hobby Lobby is a leading arts-and-crafts retailer with a strong commitment to its employees. As an Import Compliance Business Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods across multiple modes of transportation, while maintaining compliance with trade regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Hobby Lobby's CTPAT program to ensure compliance with trade regulations.
  • Monitor trade compliance regulations and analyze business processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Complete compliance audits of high-risk trade programs and make recommendations to mitigate risk.
  • Conduct research and compile data into spreadsheets for reporting purposes.
  • Prepare for and attend meetings with international transportation providers to ensure seamless cargo flow.
  • Escalate issues to the necessary parties as they arise and take proactive steps to prevent or mitigate problems.
Requirements:
  • Thoroughness in accomplishing tasks through concern for all areas involved.
  • Ability to monitor and check work for accuracy before submission.
  • Organizational skills to efficiently manage time and resources, meeting deadlines through goal setting.
  • Problem-solving skills, using logic and imagination to come up with intelligent solutions to situations.
  • Ability to anticipate potential future problems and take proactive steps to prevent or mitigate them.
  • Clear expression of thoughts in written and spoken form.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to multiple web-based reporting tools.
  • Microsoft Office experience, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Education and Experience:
  • Combination of 2+ years' work experience or education in a related field.
  • Previous logistics experience is a plus.
