Hotel Night Auditor Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Hotel Night Auditor. As a key member of our front office team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel's financial and administrative tasks during the overnight shift.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Front Desk Operations:
    • Process guest check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate and efficient service.
    • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
    • Manage guest reservations, room assignments, and wake-up calls.
  • Night Audit Functions:
    • Conduct thorough audits of financial transactions, including guest folios and credit card transactions.
    • Balance revenue and charges, preparing daily reports for management review.
    • Close out the day's financial activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Accounting and Financial Controls:
    • Maintain accurate financial records, processing invoices and managing cash handling procedures.
    • Assist with month-end financial reporting, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Night Security and Safety:
    • Ensure a safe environment for guests, responding promptly to emergencies and incidents.
    • Monitor access to the hotel, adhering to security protocols and procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or hospitality is a plus.
  • Experience in front office operations or night audit roles preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in hotel property management systems and accounting software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Working Conditions:

The Hotel Night Auditor typically works the overnight shift, including weekends and holidays. This role requires standing for extended periods, lifting moderate weights, and handling emergencies calmly.
