Role Summary:

As a Health & Safety Co-op, you will be integral to our mission of enhancing workplace safety. You will assist in the development and execution of extensive environmental, health, and safety initiatives. This position offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience in a vibrant manufacturing setting, refine your technical expertise, and contribute positively to the health and safety of our workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of EHS policies and programs to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Support the organization of safety training sessions and educational workshops.
  • Maintain and manage safety data sheets and oversee chemical safety protocols.
  • Help with waste management, recycling efforts, and environmental sustainability projects.
  • Collect and analyze EHS data to monitor and report on performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with various teams to advocate for safety and environmental responsibility.
  • Stay updated on emerging EHS trends and regulatory developments.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Previous experience or coursework in EHS is advantageous.

Additional Notes:

  • Some travel to other facilities may be necessary.
