Job Title: Residential Advisor

Join the State of Louisiana team as a Residential Advisor, providing direct care and support to students with deaf and visually impaired needs. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others.

About the Role:
  • Provide basic care, supervision, guidance, and training to students in a residential environment.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Monitor living areas to maintain custody control and prevent trespassing.
  • Document incidents and accidents, and report to higher authority as necessary.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the well-being and safety of students.
Requirements:
  • No experience or training required.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Willingness to learn American Sign Language (ASL).
  • Current or former experience working in a 24-hour state facility or school setting is a plus.
