Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Advisor to join our team at the Louisiana Department of State Civil Service. As a Residential Advisor, you will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to deaf and visually impaired students in a residential environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide basic care and supervision to students, including bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Assist students with daily living skills, such as personal hygiene and household management
  • Monitor living areas and maintain custody control to prevent trespassing
  • Report any accidents, incidents, or suspected cases of abuse or neglect to higher authority
  • Maintain accurate records, including daily reports and incident reports
Requirements
  • No experience or training required
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed
  • Willingness to learn American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Current or former employee of LSDVI or Special School District
