Job Title: Mutuels/Sportsbook Cashier

Job Summary:

The Mutuels/Sportsbook Cashier is a key member of our team, responsible for accurately and efficiently processing betting information, printing tickets, and handling payment transactions while providing exceptional guest service in a friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter betting information into the system with precision and speed.
  • Print tickets and process payment transactions in accordance with department policies and procedures.
  • Provide excellent guest service, educating customers on wagering rules and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate bank balances and ensure all card and cash transactions are accurate.
  • Ensure work area is neat and organized, maintaining required inventory of supplies.
  • Address guest questions, concerns, or complaints, escalating to management as needed.
  • Stay informed about sports, sporting events, and horseracing events.
  • Work with safety as a priority, following department and company safety standards.
  • Attend periodic meetings and training sessions to stay up-to-date on industry developments.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.

Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience as a Sportsbook and/or Mutuels Writer/Teller preferred.
  • One year of experience in guest service and cash/credit card processing preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and guest service skills.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • Ability to secure and maintain NE Gaming License.

Work Environment:

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.

Physical Requirements:

This role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working in a smoke-free environment.
