Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented HIM Technician to join our team at the Helen Ross McNabb Center. As a HIM Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of patient health information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scanning and filing medical records in a timely and accurate manner
  • Processing requests for patient health information while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations
  • Providing exceptional customer service to patients and staff
  • Assisting with legal issues related to patient records, subpoenas, and court orders
  • Monitoring and ordering supplies and forms for department needs
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or equivalent job-related experience preferred
  • Minimum of two years related experience preferred
  • Knowledge of healthcare records management and strong understanding of health information concepts
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
Working Conditions

This position requires sitting for extended periods of time and use of computer and other office equipment. Quality lighting is provided for performing work activities.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this position is approximately $15.81/hour based on relevant experience and education. The Helen Ross McNabb Center offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan.
