POSITION SUMMARY:

The Preschool Education Associate plays a vital role in supporting Lead Teachers by aiding in the design and execution of educational activities that foster the cognitive, emotional, social, and physical growth of young children within a nurturing and secure educational setting. This position emphasizes the importance of family engagement and promotes the development of strong connections between children and their families.

STATUS:

  • Full-time - 12-month Employee

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Child Interaction: Employs suitable language and positive reinforcement; exemplifies appropriate conduct; treats every child with respect and dignity.
  • Supervision: Vigilantly observes children at all times to ensure their safety, particularly during outdoor activities.
  • Curriculum Support: Aids the Lead Teacher in preparing and delivering age-appropriate educational experiences that align with the values and mission of Trinity School for Children.
  • Communication: Fosters open dialogue with educators and administrators; upholds confidentiality regarding program and client-related matters.
  • Classroom Environment: Assists in maintaining a tidy and organized educational space; ensures all surfaces and materials are sanitized.
  • Collaboration: Builds and sustains positive relationships with children, parents, educators, and administrators; demonstrates flexibility and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of standing, walking, sitting, using hands, bending, kneeling, and lifting or moving up to 30 pounds.
  • Professional Growth: Collaborates with the Early Childhood Director to explore professional development opportunities; takes initiative for personal professional advancement.
  • Educational Philosophy: Comprehends and applies the principles of the Trinity educational philosophy and adheres to the Employee Handbook.
  • Additional Duties: Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience working with children from infancy to preschool age is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting and drug screening.
  • Completion of the Basic 40 Hours training required by licensing for Early Childhood within 11 months of hire.
  • Possesses a warm and approachable demeanor.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to adapt to meet the objectives of the Early Childhood Program.
