Key Responsibilities

The Role

The Culinary Specialist position is integral to the Culinary Team, dedicated to crafting appetizing and wholesome meals for our residents, visitors, and staff members.

Your Contributions PRIMARY DUTIES
Prepare and serve meals for residents and their visitors promptly and consistently.Cook and present dishes following established recipes, portion guidelines, and aesthetic standards.Work collaboratively with culinary colleagues, nutrition experts, and healthcare professionals to address special dietary requirements, allergies, and food sensitivities of residents.Manage food ordering and inventory, ensuring stock levels are monitored and waste is minimized.Assist in menu planning, recipe sampling, and organizing special events.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the work environment and cooking stations.Inspect food items and supplies as necessary.Assess food and supply requirements based on menu and dietary considerations.Communicate promptly about any changes or shortages.Adhere to safety regulations, procedures, and company policies.CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities encompass customer service, inventory management, food safety, and effective communication.QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.Must be at least 18 years of age.Successful completion of State and Company background checks and drug screenings.Exhibit strong time management abilities.Experience or knowledge in special diets, large-scale meal preparation, and safe food handling practices is essential.Ability to read and comprehend recipes, collaborate in a team setting, work flexible hours, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Capability to perform detailed tasks involving mathematical calculations, problem-solving, and understanding menus.Solid knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation standards.Comfortable with frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting, and lifting.Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
