Position Summary

The JANITOR is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within facilities. This role involves performing extensive cleaning tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Cleaning floors, carpets, walls, and glass surfaces.
  • Removing waste and ensuring proper disposal methods are followed.
  • Utilizing appropriate cleaning materials and equipment to sanitize all surfaces.

Key Responsibilities

The essential duties of this position include:

  • Collecting and disposing of trash in accordance with established procedures.
  • Damp mopping and dusting floors to maintain hygiene standards.
  • Rearranging furniture and equipment to facilitate thorough cleaning.
  • Washing walls, windows, and other surfaces to ensure a safe environment for all.
  • Proactively identifying areas that require cleaning and taking initiative to address them.
  • Completing all assigned tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Following all federal, state, and local guidelines related to cleaning and sanitation.
  • Performing floor maintenance tasks such as stripping, scrubbing, and refinishing.
  • Exhibiting professionalism and teamwork in interactions with colleagues and clients.
