Job Title: LPN or Certified Medical Assistant

Essentia Health is seeking a skilled LPN or Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at the Pillager Clinic in St. Josephs. As a key member of our ambulatory care team, you will provide direct patient care and support to our patients, working closely with our RNs, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine assessments, including vital signs, patient histories, and symptom observation, to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.
  • Assist with completing lab draws, swabs, urine collection, and processing.
  • Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures, preparing equipment, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring proper infection control.
  • Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, and assist in coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals.
Requirements:
  • Current registration or certification as a Medical Assistant
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, with certification required within one year of hire (must pass certification within two attempts)
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the relevant state
