We seek an individual who is eager to collaborate with audio designers and other teams to create a rich, immersive audio landscape that enhances the gaming experience.

Below is an overview of the responsibilities and qualities we are looking for in the ideal candidate:
  • Designing and implementing audio systems and tools tailored to the needs of the audio team (including sound propagation, environmental audio, dialogue systems, and physics systems).
  • Supporting sound designers in effectively utilizing these systems and tools.
  • Improving and optimizing audio workflows and processes.
  • Writing clear, well-documented, and efficient code.
  • Profiling and optimizing code to remove performance bottlenecks.
  • Testing, debugging, and ensuring the quality of all audio components in the game.
  • Collaborating in the design process by gathering requirements from fellow engineers and designers.
  • Demonstrating initiative and effectively managing your workload to achieve measurable outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional programming experience, including involvement in at least one released AAA title.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Strong C++ programming skills with a focus on code optimization and multi-core programming.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining audio systems at all levels, from core audio engines to game code, music, and dialogue management.
  • Proficient in code architecture and system design.
  • Commitment to high standards of code quality, documentation, and sound testing practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of Vector Mathematics and Physics.
  • Experience in implementing interactive 3D audio in dynamic gaming environments.
  • Familiarity with the Wwise API.
  • Understanding of game engines and the constraints of gaming consoles.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team, effectively communicating with sound teams and fellow engineers.
  • A passion for gaming, a drive for innovation, and a strong professional ethic.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Experience with Unreal Engine.
  • Basic skills in sound design, including crafting, editing, and mixing sounds for games.
  • Experience in developing dialogue systems.
  • Knowledge of creating custom DSP code.
  • Experience in designing audio physics systems.
  • Involvement in environmental audio, sound propagation, and 3D audio.
  • Technical knowledge of audio rendering, compression technologies, and codecs.
