Job Overview: The Educational Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that students receive high-quality, relevant instruction within a secure and encouraging learning atmosphere. This role oversees all district and state assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction and Curriculum Development:

  • Support teaching staff in the execution of the school curriculum through classroom observations, collaborative teaching, lesson modeling, and providing constructive feedback.
  • Guide educators on evidence-based instructional methods and curricula that engage all learners and enhance student outcomes.
  • Engage in monthly data discussions with grade-level teams and administrative personnel.
  • Revise and enhance lesson plan formats and conduct weekly reviews of submitted lesson plans.
  • Contribute to the curriculum committee by reviewing global units, school curricula, and academic initiatives.

Human Resources and Personnel Management:

  • Assist in the recruitment, interviewing, and selection of faculty as necessary.
  • Establish and execute an annual evaluation timeline while maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Conduct teacher evaluations utilizing the TAP rubric and facilitate pre- and post-evaluation conferences.
  • Coordinate substitute teachers for faculty absences and ensure daily staffing coverage.

Professional Development:

  • Collaborate with the school director to develop and implement Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) and provide ongoing observation and coaching support to all instructional staff.
  • Work alongside the school director to organize school-wide professional development, including training for new teachers and back-to-school workshops, ensuring alignment with teachers' needs and instructional objectives.
  • Partner with special education administration to ensure that professional development for paraprofessionals aligns with instructional goals and school requirements.

District Assessment Coordination:

  • Oversee all district and state standardized testing, ensuring compliance with guidelines and proctor training.
  • Create and maintain school calendars for MDE, NWEA, and Access assessments, ensuring they are publicly accessible.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure proper scheduling and implementation of assessment tools, including FastBridge and NWEA.
  • Analyze student performance data to evaluate academic achievement, identify areas for improvement, and communicate findings with the Instructional Leadership Team.

School Engagement:

  • Participate in all school parent events, including evening functions.
  • Engage in designated school committees, particularly those focused on curriculum.
  • Assist with student arrival and dismissal procedures as required.
  • Support classroom management and discipline as needed.
  • Attend weekly school leadership meetings.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with over 10 years of teaching experience and instructional leadership in an educational setting.
  • Possession of a valid Minnesota teaching license.
  • Effective communication skills in both large and small group settings.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of curriculum and best instructional practices.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to foster positive working relationships.
  • Proficiency in computer use and familiarity with educational software.

Physical Requirements: The role requires regular sitting, talking, standing, and walking. The employee may occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Work is conducted in a PK-6 elementary school environment with moderate noise levels.
