Job Summary

The University of Minnesota Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Coordinator to join our team. This role will be responsible for the operational and administrative management of our Cancer and Children's Health teams, including implementing and managing a development strategy that deepens engagement with key stakeholders and secures support for Medicine and Health priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the liaison between UMF leadership and M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital Philanthropic Board and Executive Committee, as well as the Cancer Philanthropic Board and its Executive Committee.
  • Partner with Development Officers to advance prospects and donors through the gift continuum by assisting with donor outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Coordinate meetings with donors and Presidential Requests, Faculty, Medical School, M Health Fairview System, Department of Pediatrics, OACA, and UMF, and University leadership.
  • Support onsite culture of philanthropy activities that contribute towards the development strategy, including fostering donor engagement, organizing fundraising events, building community partnerships, and promoting internal collaboration to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Assist development officers across Medicine and Health unit with hospital events and special events, tours, and programming, including planning, request forms, hospital coordination, attend and/or manage those events.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all inquiries related to Children's Health and Cancer, including communicating directly with leadership, faculty, and staff across the University, M Health Fairview, and the external community.
  • Secure, provide, and manage protected health information (PHI) and confidential board information for development programs and activities.
  • Schedule complex meetings and coordinate calendars; prepare and edit correspondence and mailing lists.
  • Handle complex communication on behalf of the unit and serve as a liaison across the M Health system, including the UMN Medical School, UMP, and Fairview with clinical staff and departmental divisions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and administrative and/or project management experience to equal four years.
  • Executive-level administrative and/or project management experience.
  • Ability to maintain highly confidential data and comply with PHI and HIPAA policies.
  • Ability to travel as needed, including throughout the campus and local twin cities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform with competence in high-pressure situations and a rapidly changing environment, to multitask and work independently, meet deadlines, prioritize office work, and coordinate with others.
  • Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) including spreadsheet and database applications, database creation and use, advanced word-processing and presentation creation.
  • Proficiency in databases including searching, running queries, and analysis.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced level grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
