Sanitation Supervisor Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing the sanitation and cleaning processes within our production facility. The Sanitation Supervisor will lead a team of production associates in ensuring the facility and equipment are cleaned efficiently, safely, and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate sanitation activities to meet established performance guidelines.
  • Ensure sanitation employees comply with all applicable safety laws and regulations, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
  • Organize and prioritize sanitation tasks to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Lead by example in attendance, safety, GMPs, quality of work, organization, and follow-through.
  • Make suggestions for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Operate within a departmental budget for labor and supplies.
  • Adjust sanitation schedules as necessary to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation.
  • Supervise and manage activities directly related to the daily business and department needs.
  • Develop, analyze, and deliver information to direct reports.
  • Mentor and lead production associates.
  • Ensure associates are trained for and compliant with all applicable operations.
  • Assign duties and operations based on daily department needs.
  • Ensure quality products are produced and department metrics are achieved.
  • Effectively communicate daily schedules, goals, quality issues/concerns between shifts.
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending action.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and trainings.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Safeguard and maintain company equipment and property, including Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
  • Ensure all areas are kept clean at all times.
  • Attend all company training sessions.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience managing or supervising employees in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Ability to train on food safety, food quality, regulatory requirements, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Good work history and ability to learn.
  • Minimum computer skills at intermediate level.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Basic decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
  • Able to meet physical demands in the work environment.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand for long periods, walk, frequently lift material up to 50 pounds, and perform frequent twisting, turning, reaching, pushing, and pulling. The employee must also be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk, and hear.

Work Environment:

Work is normally performed in a warehouse/production environment. As part of the job requirements, the employee may be exposed to work in a production setting and cold temperatures (-20 degrees) at times. The employee must be flexible with the work schedule, which supports a 24-hour production facility. The schedule may include weekends.
