Overview

St. David's Surgical Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. As a PACU Recovery Room Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to patients recovering from surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their unique needs and develop individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and respond promptly to any changes or concerns
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless transitions of care and effective communication
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, promoting a positive and empowering experience

Requirements

  • 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in PACU or Critical Care Unit
  • Previous acute care experience – preferred
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy
