We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at St. David's North Austin Medical Center. As a PACU Recovery Room Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a smooth recovery for our patients.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for assigned patients in the PACU.
- Direct and deliver comprehensive nursing care to post-anesthesia and post-operative patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and providing emotional support.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
- Identify and report any variations in patient condition to the appropriate individuals, including physicians and anesthesiologists.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions prior to transport from the PACU.
- Make rounds to check equipment cleanliness and appropriate storage.
- Monitor narcotic and medication control.
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in PACU.
- Previous acute care experience is preferred.
- Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification are required.
