Medical Records Technician

US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities is seeking a highly skilled Medical Records Technician to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient medical records.

Responsibilities:
  • Organize, sort, and file incoming and outgoing patient information, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Prepare charts for patient visits, including scanning and attaching electronic medical reports and correspondence.
  • Retrieve and deliver medical records and electronic medical records as assigned, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Support the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and complete documentation of patient care.
  • Monitor physician dictation and ensure completion in the electronic medical record, alerting physicians who are behind.
  • Compile and maintain patient medical records, documenting condition and treatment, and providing data for research and quality improvement efforts.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed, including typing, scanning, and faxing.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-3 years' experience in a medical office setting, preferably in medical records or a related field.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems.
