The ideal candidate will conduct evaluations as mandated by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME Code) Sections XI and III at operational Nuclear Power Facilities. This role is a full-time position requiring 8 hours of work each day. Occasional travel may be necessary to assist with outages at nearby power generation sites. The role involves physical activities such as extensive walking and climbing ladders. Candidates must successfully pass a background check to gain entry to a Nuclear Facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspections in accordance with ASME Code requirements.
  • Support two operational Nuclear Power Facilities and assist during outages.
  • Engage in physical activities including climbing and walking long distances.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in boiler/reactor operations, design, fabrication, or inspection of high-pressure boilers and/or pressure vessels.
  • Basic knowledge of welding, weld inspection, and non-destructive examination (NDE) techniques.
  • Fundamental algebra skills.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and manage computer operations.
  • Possession of a National Board AI Commission.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, particularly in mechanical disciplines.
  • 5 years of experience in ASME Code construction and fabrication processes.
  • ASME Qualified Welder and/or NDE Technician certification.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows operating systems.
  • National Board AI Commission with "N" and "I" endorsements.

Physical Requirements:
This position necessitates the ability to navigate various site facilities. Candidates must be capable of:
  • Crawling through confined spaces.
  • Climbing vertical ladders and multiple stories of stairs.
  • Functioning at heights of at least 30 feet.
  • Performing bending, stretching, and twisting motions.
  • Withstanding temperature fluctuations of up to 70 degrees.
  • Walking distances of 3-5 miles.
  • Standing for extended periods and maintaining a stationary position for 50% of the time.
  • Lifting personal body weight while using safety equipment in confined spaces.
  • Lifting equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Having visual acuity of 20/20 (natural or corrected) and the ability to distinguish colors.
  • Hearing (corrected) the operational sounds of equipment.
