Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Fire Safety Engineering Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be integral to ensuring compliance with safety regulations and enhancing the safety protocols within our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Fire Safety Engineering Specialist, your duties will include:
  • Conducting thorough evaluations of facility modifications to ensure adherence to relevant regulations and standards.
  • Performing routine audits, inspections, and assessments of existing safety conditions within the plant.
  • Executing risk assessments and utilizing methodologies such as Event Tree Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
  • Collaborating with various departments to maintain equipment and rectify hazardous conditions.
  • Reviewing design drawings for new projects to ensure compliance with safety codes and requirements.
  • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert on fire protection and life safety matters.
  • Facilitating compliance programs to uphold Federal and State Safety and Health Regulations.
  • Participating in emergency response training and drills.
  • Preparing detailed reports for management summarizing findings and recommendations.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline, with a preference for Fire Protection Engineering.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a related field, ideally within an industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of water-based and gaseous suppression systems, fire alarm systems, and passive fire protection features.
  • Familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Codes/Standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail.
  • The ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
Additional credentials such as Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Fire Protection or Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) are highly regarded.
