Key Responsibilities- Deliver and set up medical equipment at patient homes, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Provide clear and concise instruction on the proper use and care of medical equipment to patients and their families.
- Assist patients in solving problems related to equipment use and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
- Load and unload equipment onto delivery vehicles, verifying all equipment and additional stock is loaded before leaving for deliveries.
- Complete vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles meet company policy guidelines.
- Make contact with patients to confirm delivery times and provide updates on estimated arrival times.
- Review daily orders and deliveries, communicating with dispatch regarding any necessary changes.
- Complete and maintain accurate records of deliveries, including driver logs and vehicle inspections.
- Respond to emergency calls and new patient orders to deliver equipment as needed during regular business hours and on-call rotations.
- Notify management of any physical abuse, unsafe home environments, or unsanitary conditions encountered during deliveries.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; previous DME experience or relevant experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to remain professional in stressful situations.
- Valid Chauffer's license and ability to pass applicable background checks, including drug screens, physicals, and TB testing.
- Working knowledge and comfort with smartphones and ability to navigate company systems.
The physical demands of this role include regular walking, talking, and hearing, as well as sitting for periods of time in vehicles. Employees must be able to lift objects weighing up to 170 pounds, push or pull objects weighing up to 20 pounds, and stand for extended periods. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must also be able to pass the Department of Transportation physical.
