This position is for an Aerospace Maintenance Technician, located within a National Guard aircraft maintenance organization. This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires membership in the Georgia Air National Guard.

Responsibilities
As an Aerospace Maintenance Technician, you will:
- Conduct inspections, functional checks, and preventive maintenance on aircraft, including periodic, phase, hourly, preflight, postflight, calendar, thru-flight, and special inspections such as fuel contamination and emergency equipment checks.
- Inspect and perform functional checks on systems including landing gear, hydraulic, electrical, pressurization, lubrication, de-icing, vacuum, induction, and exhaust systems.
- Troubleshoot and execute unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft, utilizing various gauges, meters, measuring devices, and other related test equipment.
- Remove and replace aircraft components such as control surfaces, engines, constant speed drives, engine-mounted gearboxes, wing fuel tanks, landing gear mechanisms, wheels, brakes, and tires.
- Service oil, fluid, fuel, hydraulic, and oxygen systems, and adjust and maintain installed equipment.
- Perform user and organizational level maintenance on assigned support equipment, including inspection, repair, modification, and corrosion prevention.
- Instruct, direct, and assign maintenance repair tasks to drill status guard members.
- Comply with safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulations.
- Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations and exercises.

General Experience:
Must possess experience that has provided the candidate with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts, accessories, and components, and to make adjustments and settings according to established specifications. Must be skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.
Specialized Experience:
Candidate must have 18 months specialized experience installing, adjusting, aligning, troubleshooting, and functionally testing various major and minor mechanical and pneumatic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification. Experience coordinating the work of other mechanics and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow is essential.
Physical Effort:
Requires moderate physical exertion when climbing, stooping, standing, bending, stretching, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Routinely required to lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds, occasionally may lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions:
Works indoors and outdoors in inclement weather on icy, wet, hot, and slippery surfaces. Subject to exposure to toxic fumes, dust, dirt, grease, lubricants, and other hazardous materials. Frequent exposure to the possibility of cuts, burns, shock, strains, and broken bones.
