We are seeking an exceptional Excess and Surplus Lines Underwriting Assistant to join our team at Cincinnati Insurance Company, Inc. This role will provide critical support to our underwriters in all aspects of new business entry, renewal, and post-issuance transactions.
Key Responsibilities- Process new business, renewals, and post-bind transactions in our policy administration system and broker management system.
- Assist underwriters through all phases of the account from initial data collection to ongoing service and account maintenance.
- Provide backup support to underwriters and other underwriting assistants.
- Deliver timely customer service to our agency partners.
- Order and screen miscellaneous reports as needed in the underwriting process.
- Support with state compliance as needed.
- Perform other clerical tasks as needed in support of the underwriter.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and organize work.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Willingness to work hard and learn in a dynamic environment.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Self-directed and highly productive with light supervision.
- Ability to navigate web-based applications.
- AINS certification is preferred, but completion within three years of start date if selected for the position is also acceptable.
- Completion of the ASLI designation is encouraged upon completion of AINS certification.
- Knowledge of commercial insurance ratings process is helpful, but not required.
