About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Manager to join our team at Equity Residential. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of our properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Community and Property Manager to cultivate a high-performing team, ensuring adherence to Equity Residential standards and assisting them with their tasks as needed.
  • Analyze the financial performance of the property and help perform scheduled maintenance while providing regular status reports.
  • Collaborate with the Community Manager to achieve property objectives, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Oversee the maintenance team, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard and that all equipment and tools are properly maintained.
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure that all properties are well-maintained and that any issues are addressed promptly.
  • Work closely with the Property Manager to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to improve the overall maintenance process.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in accordance with Equity Residential's health and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Hands-on maintenance experience in areas including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, appliance, and HVAC.
  • Residential or commercial property management, hospitality, or retail experience.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record, along with auto insurance, required when working between multiple sites that require driving throughout the day.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing in English for all work-related purposes.
  • Knowledge of federal and state apartment housing laws.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies after normal business hours and on weekends when assigned on-call responsibilities.
  • EPA Section 608 Type I and Type II or Universal certification required within 90 days of hire if required based on the needs of the community.

  • Managerial experience.
Compensation

The successful candidate's starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications.
